No – with just one small but key exception.
For (SPOT)light we only need details of the first visit. There are two possible outcomes following this:
- The patient is never admitted to a critical care unit in the Case Mix Programme – in which case we will just determine 90 day follow-up.
- The patient is admitted to a critical care unit in the Case Mix programme – in which case will we will determine 90 day follow-up and the duration of time between the first visit and their critical care admission along with their severity of illness at that admission.
In the second scenario we need the Case Mix Programme admission number for matching which does mean you will need to ‘keep an eye’ on critical care admissions over the next week or so to work out if they are subsequently admitted or not.
